Further Progress at The Flyunder

27-29 January, the second digging trip prior to the ‘discovery’ of the Flyunder Passage, a possible key to passing the choke at the end of Eastern Flyover.

Friday night; Gonzo, Andy and 3 Daren virgins, Matt, Mandy & Niall from the Cerberus entered the cave.

A leisurely start on the Saturday (life is always leisurely at the HRC) before heading off for the 3/4 hour journey to the dig. Light the candles to heat the kettle, let digging commence. Digging in a half hour shift pattern, we dug constantly for around 6 1/2 hours. Occasionally slow if a rock is in the way, sometimes digging in a cloud of dust as you plough through the sand faster than number two can fill the skip, always following open air space with a tantalising view of a few inches of open airspace. I was lucky to have a half hour of dry sand with an ever-increasing airspace before the passage was high enough to be able to peer over the brow to around 2m of open, descending passage to an open archway, albeit only body-sized.

REU camp 18-20 Nov.

Mad Phil, Ian H, Gonzo, Charles B and Martin B.
A heavily laden trip by all as stocks of food and digging tools needed replenishing and people needed to carry in personal kit.
The general concensus of the diggers was that we would continue to work on our main projects and wouldn't be sidetracked the possibility of a connection to the team working in Aggy.

Hi, I've just updated the site to a new version of Joomla the Content Management System formally known as Mambo. This is Open Source software and had a major code split a couple of months ago.

Hope you enjoy the site!
